Merry Christmas!

久しぶりにブログをアップしました。今日は１２月２５日、クリスマスです!
日本では、ものすごく賑やかに街が盛り上がるところでしょうが、ニュージーランドでは殆どのお店が休みになってしまい本当に静かです。昔の日本のお正月を思い出します。この写真の花はポフツカワ（Pohutukawa）という花で、別名クリスマスツリーです。オークランドの街のいたる所に生えていて、１ヶ月ほど前から真っ赤な花を咲かせています。真夏にクリスマスを迎えるこの国では、雪が積もったもみの木よりも、こちらのクリスマスツリーの方が合っている気がします。（美穂）
I’m writing this diary after a long time. It’s Christmas today!
People are lively on the day in Japan but almost all the shops in New Zealand are closed so it’s quite calm.
The flowers on the pictures named Pohutukawa. That’s called “Christmas Tree” in New Zealand because of their color. Lots of them are in Auckland and they has been blooming for a month. I think they are more suitable for Christmas in New Zealand than fir trees covered with snow because It’s summer here.(Miho)
